Hinge Health Hiring Software Engineering Intern Position:

Job Description :

Hinge Health is looking for passionate Software Engineering Interns to join their cross-functional teams. Interns will work on impactful, real-world projects, contributing to iOS, Android, and Web applications. This involves writing production-ready code, building and deploying features, contributing to APIs, and addressing technical debt. Interns will participate in agile ceremonies, be mentored by experienced engineers, and gain hands-on experience with modern tech stacks like JavaScript, TypeScript, React Native, Node.js, and cloud platforms. A strong desire to learn and a collaborative spirit are key.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Computer Science or a related technical field, with a strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.

Job function: Software Engineering Intern

Skills/experience:

•  Solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming (OOP) principles.
•  Experience with languages like JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, C#, or Go, as they use a diverse tech stack.
•  Exposure to front-end (React, React Native, HTML, CSS) or back-end (Node.js, Rails) concepts is highly beneficial.
•  Understanding of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL) and/or NoSQL databases.
•  Experience using Git for source control and collaborative development.
•  Demonstrated ability to approach and solve technical problems logically and efficiently.
• Involvement in personal projects, academic projects, hackathons, or previous internships showcasing practical application of skills.
•  Eagerness to work effectively within a team, participate in agile ceremonies, and receive/provide constructive feedback.
•  A genuine curiosity for new technologies and a proactive approach to learning within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

•  Write clean, well-tested, and production-ready code for features on iOS, Android, or Web applications using technologies like JavaScript, TypeScript, React Native, Node.js, etc.
• Build and deploy complete, meaningful minor features or components of larger features under the guidance of experienced engineers.
• Extend existing or contribute to new APIs that power various aspects of the Hinge Health platform.
•  Assist in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving software bugs and performance bottlenecks.
•  Contribute to efforts to refactor code, improve existing systems, and address technical debt.
•  Actively participate in agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
•  Engage in code reviews, both providing and receiving constructive feedback to ensure code quality and learn best practices.
•  Share responsibility for maintaining healthy live site operations, which may involve minor bug fixes or monitoring.
•  Proactively seek out learning opportunities, absorb mentorship from senior engineers, and gain familiarity with Hinge Health’s tech stack and workflows.

Education requirements:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI/ML or related technical field
• Demonstrated experience with multiple programming languages (Python, Typescript) and frameworks, along with knowledge of cloud technologies and distributed systems
• Hands-on experience with AI and ML, along with exposure to working with LLM
• Basic knowledge of databases (SQL and NoSQL) and database management
• Proficiency in front-end technologies including  and ReactJS, Python, HTML/CSS etc
• Experience with backend development using languages such as Node.js , Python etc
• Strong academic performance in Computer Science or related field with coursework in data structures, algorithms, and database concepts
• Previous project experience through hackathons, personal projects, or research; familiarity with development tools like Git, CI/CD pipelines, and debugging tools
• Excellent problem-solving abilities with demonstrated capacity to work in team environments and strong communication skills
