Job Description :

Paytm is hiring for an Internal Audit – Industrial Trainee role, offering a valuable opportunity for CA students. This position involves assisting the internal audit team in evaluating and enhancing the organization’s internal controls, risk management, and governance processes. The trainee will gain hands-on experience reviewing financial statements, identifying areas for improvement, preparing audit reports, and maintaining documentation, working closely with seasoned professionals. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential.

Skills/experience:

  • Basic knowledge of internal auditing principles and practices: Understanding core audit concepts, methodologies, and internal controls.
  • Strong analytical abilities: Capability to review financial data, identify inconsistencies, and analyze processes for inefficiencies.
  • Problem-solving mindset: A proactive and logical approach to identifying issues and proposing effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal): Ability to articulate audit findings clearly, prepare comprehensive reports, and collaborate effectively with teams.
  • Attention to detail and documentation skills: Ensuring accuracy in audit work and maintaining thorough records of audit activities and observations.

Responsibilities:

1) Internal Audit Execution

  • Assist in conducting audits across different business units
  • Evaluate effectiveness of financial, operational, and IT controls
  • Help identify gaps and suggest actionable improvements

2) Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare audit working papers and supporting documents
  • Contribute to drafting detailed internal audit reports
  • Assist in presenting findings to senior management

3) Risk & Governance Review

  • Analyze internal processes for risks and compliance gaps
  • Participate in special audits and investigations
  • Suggest process improvements based on audit insights

4) Learning & Collaboration

  • Work with experienced auditors and team leads

Education requirements:

  • Pursuing a Chartered Accountancy (CA) degree: This is a fundamental requirement for industrial trainees.
  • Passed both groups of the CA Intermediate/IPCC Examination: Candidates must have successfully cleared these levels to be eligible.
  • Completed at least one year of articleship: As per ICAI regulations, industrial training can typically be undertaken after completing a minimum period of articleship under a practicing Chartered Accountant.
  • Eligible for Industrial Training as per ICAI regulations: Adherence to all ICAI guidelines for industrial training is crucial.
  • Industrial training period of 9 to 12 months: The role falls within the specified duration for industrial training.
  • Training to be undertaken in the last year of practical training: Industrial training is typically pursued during the final phase of the articleship.
  • Ability to obtain necessary approvals from the current CA Principal and ICAI: Formal permission and documentation are required for the transfer to industrial training.
