S&P Global Hiring Associate Engineer Position:
Job Description :
As an Associate Engineer at S&P Global, you’ll join an agile software development team, often focusing on high-volume, multi-terabyte data systems. Key responsibilities include designing, developing, analyzing, debugging, and maintaining software applications using technologies like Microsoft .NET and React. You’ll participate in the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), interpret technical requirements, and contribute to scalable solutions within a collaborative scrum environment, delivering essential intelligence to global markets.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Skills/experience:
- Programming Proficiency: Solid understanding and practical experience in at least one modern programming language (e.g., C#, Java, Python, JavaScript).
- Object-Oriented Design (OOD): Fundamental knowledge of OOD principles and software design patterns.
- Database Fundamentals: Basic understanding of relational databases (SQL) and/or NoSQL databases.
- Web Technologies (Front-end): Familiarity with front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with some exposure to frameworks like React or Angular often preferred.
- Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC): Awareness of different phases of the SDLC and agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
- Problem-Solving & Debugging: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot issues and devise effective solutions.
- Data Structures & Algorithms: Basic understanding of common data structures and algorithms.
- Version Control: Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Communication & Teamwork: Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Designs, develops, analyses, debugs and maintains S&P Global’s software applications and technologies to meet user requirements.
- Develops, modifies and maintains applications that may be customized or standardized. Participates in the software development lifecycle (SDLC) as appropriate.

Education requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering
