Job Description :
UKG is seeking talented Software Engineers to design, develop, test, and maintain robust and scalable cloud-based HCM solutions. This role involves writing clean, efficient code, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams (Product, UX), and actively participating in the full software development lifecycle. Engineers will contribute to cutting-edge technologies, debug and optimize applications, and ensure high quality and performance for UKG’s global customer base. A passion for problem-solving, strong programming fundamentals, and a collaborative mindset are essential.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering, or a related field.
Job function: Software Engineer
Skills/experience:
- Strong hands-on experience with languages like Java (often preferred for UKG’s backend), Python, C#, or JavaScript.
- Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming (OOP) principles, and software design patterns.
- Experience with full-stack web development, including front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js), HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Proficiency with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and the ability to write efficient SQL queries. NoSQL database experience can also be beneficial.
- Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and experience with major cloud providers (e.g., GCP, Azure, AWS), especially related to building and deploying scalable applications.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment (Scrum, Kanban) and understanding of DevOps principles, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and monitoring.
- Ability to analyze complex technical challenges, debug issues efficiently, and propose robust, scalable solutions.
- Excellent collaboration skills, willingness to participate in code reviews, and effective verbal and written communication to work with cross-functional teams (Product, UX, QA).
- Experience with unit testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit), test-driven development (TDD), and a commitment to delivering high-quality, well-tested software.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement: Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code for various software applications and systems.
- Collaborate: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to understand requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Debug and Test: Participate in debugging, testing, and optimization of software applications to ensure reliability and performance.
- Learn and Grow: Engage in continuous learning and improvement by attending workshops, participating in code reviews, and staying up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies.
- Document: Assist in creating and maintaining technical documentation for software applications and systems

Education requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, Python, C++, or JavaScript.
- Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, and software design principles.
