Job Description :
As a Junior Tester at HCLTech under the HCLTech Off Campus Drive 2026, you will be part of a high-tech verification and regression team. Your role is critical in the hardware development lifecycle, where you will manage Regression Execution & Monitoring. You will be responsible for triaging failures, rerunning tests, and ensuring that the testing infrastructure remains stable and efficient.
You will utilize HCLTech’s internal “Viper” regression system and work with world-class simulators like Vivado, Questa, and VCS. This role also encourages the adoption of modern AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, and Codex to optimize testing scripts and debugging processes. It is a highly technical role that blends traditional semiconductor testing with modern automation and AI integration.
Roles & Responsibilities :
- Execute and monitor complex regression suites using the internal “Viper” system.
- Triage test failures, identify root causes, and rerun tests to ensure accuracy.
- Debug testbench failures related to SV/UVM environments and RTL-based IPs.
- File and track technical tickets, ensuring all support queries are resolved within SLA timelines.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to ensure testing infrastructure stability.
- Adopt and implement AI tools (Copilot, Codex) to enhance scripting and debugging efficiency.
- Work with industry-standard simulators such as Vivado, Questa, and VCS for hardware verification.
- Maintain detailed logs and documentation for all testing activities and resolved bugs.
Skills & Eligibility :
- Education: B.E / B.Tech in Electronics, Computer Science, or a related engineering field.
- Domain Knowledge: Solid understanding of the Semiconductor domain and hardware testing.
- Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with Linux and at least one programming/scripting language (Python, Perl, or C++).
- Verification Tools: Familiarity with RTL/TCL-based IPs and SV/UVM testbenches is highly desirable.
- Simulators: Basic awareness of hardware simulators like Vivado, Questa, or VCS.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work under strict deadlines.
